The Power of First Time

I watched the TV and caught a very incredible news that I've been waiting for long. The result of US Presidential Election. Even though it was not done actually, since not all electoral vote had been taken, but Obama had already won 297 votes (they only need 270 to win the election). And this has made Barack Obama, a 42-years old man, becomes the first 'black' president of the United States.

How incredible was it? He is the first 'black' president of US. That's phenomenal since US was once had a heavy discrimination over black people. And now, the black person is standing as the first person of US. The first time and now, he has wrote a history.

Now, I want to discuss about 'The First Time'. Don't you think that it was the most memorable moment in this world. The first time will always be remembered better than the second, the third, and so on. First time is a special moment.

You always memorized the moment where you are first able to do something, first arrive to someplace new for you and any first time moment for you. Why? Cuz, you don't want to miss the memories of the first time and you considered it as a special one.

Now, the first person to invent electricity, the first person to invent telephone, the first person to discover gravity, the first person to derive a mathematical equation of relativity, the first person to step on the moon, and every first person to do something in history. They are and always are someone who will be remembered by this world. Those are proofs that first time is a very special thing for humans.

So, do you want to be the first time? Why don't we try to implant a vision to ourselves to be the first person ever to do something special to this world, or our nation. Like, being the first Indonesian ever nominated as Nobel Laureate of Economics. Well, every little thing can be a historical moment. All we can do is grab that vision and do our best to achieve it. Walk in the path that you believe is right.

Are you dare enough to be the first one?

Smile eternally,
Wirapati
